About Listen
Lived in this house
all my life
On that corner I met
my wife
Raised three sons and
their families
Then I watch it wash
down the street.
A patch where I
punched the wall
A cross hanging over
the bedroom door
Been my rock through
the storms
It’s hard to believe
it’s gone
Chorus
The levee may
be break, but it won’t break me
The walls may
be gone but my faith’s still there
The levee may
be break, but it won’t break me
The walls may
be gone but the foundation stands
I’ve been to college
and I’ve been to war
Always knew that soon
I’d be walking through that door
But all that’s gone
not much remains
Except that cross and
my faith
Chorus
Now where spread
across this great land
And for the first
time I’ve needed a helping hand
Yet I still have all
I need
Faith, friends and my
memories
Chorus
