About Listen

At 70 still hikes
every day
His pace has slowed
but distance remains
Most days he’s
alone
Too many of his
friends have grown old
A child in an old
man’s body
Still has a
mischievous grin
Loves to waits on his
mountain top
Says where have you
been
Life’s to
short
To waste even a
day
You’re never
too old
To play
Travels the whole
world round
Looks down from
above
Still some places
will have to wait
Until war is replaced
with love.
Life’s to
short
To waste even a
day
You’re never
too old
To play
Some call it
retirement,
He’s just begun
Doesn’t get there
fast
But he sees more when
he walks than run
