Birds start the symphony 

The sky begins to glow

All the stars say goodbye                                                       

The colors hello

The first rays of sunshine on the canyon wall

Mist on the river below

I wake up and slowly raise my head

Cause soon its time to go

And there’s peace in the canyon

Music all around

Smell of fresh coffee

Laughter the only sound

Home by the river

In a world so far away

Where time doesn’t matter, and my heart stays

Load the boats and push off

Throw myself in the flow

Paddle with such certainty

There’s only one way to go

Peace on the river

Music all around

Together but still alone

Rapids trump all sound

Home by the river

In a world so far away

Where time doesn’t matter, and my heart stays

Maybe tomorrow

Maybe next year

When I return  

I’ll still find peace here
